Lotte World Adventure Busan opened Giant Revolution on October 8, 2026. The attraction is the first operating installation of Zamperla’s Double Heart launched coaster model.
The project demonstrates how a large, highly visible roller coaster can fit within a relatively narrow site. Giant Revolution reaches a maximum height of 50 metres while occupying a footprint of approximately 70.1 × 21.2 metres. Its stated maximum speed is 110 km/h.
How the ride works
Giant Revolution uses a three-stage launch sequence. The train accelerates forward, backward and forward again. The final launch brings it to top speed and sends it toward the highest point of the layout.
The upper section is followed by airtime, a twisted near-vertical drop and two inversions. The physical track is about 325 metres long. Because the swing launch sends the train over some sections more than once, the total distance travelled is longer than the physical track length.
A single train carries 16 riders in four vehicles. Zamperla lists a theoretical capacity of up to 600 riders per hour and a ride cycle of approximately 53 seconds. The minimum rider height is 120 centimetres.
Why the project matters for Central Asia
Limited land often restricts the attraction mix available to urban parks and mall-based developments. Giant Revolution illustrates one possible response: use height and repeated track sections instead of relying on a long conventional layout.
A compact footprint, however, does not make the project simple. Before selecting this type of attraction, an investor should verify:
- ground conditions and foundation requirements;
- wind loads;
- noise impact on neighbouring properties;
- evacuation and maintenance access;
- realistic hourly capacity;
- spare-parts and service support;
- installation and long-term maintenance costs.
The relevant lesson for Central Asia is not to copy one coaster. It is to consider equipment, master planning, engineering and the operating model together when working with a constrained site.
